Baseball (LSI Double Play)

This game can either be played against the computer or against a human opponent, if played against the computer only the batters position can be assumed.

At the left part of the screen the ball is thrown at you by the pitcher and can reach you in five horizontal different positions. The two outer positions will result in a 'ball' if you don't swing at it every swing without hitting the ball, will obviously result in a strike. After successfully hitting the ball you will reach the first base either safe or out, depending on if the opponent manages to catch the ball or not. A nice feature is the ability to hit a home run if the ball is hit just right. There are also three pinch hitters available to replace your batter if you're not satisfied with him.

The field position is quite interesting too, the pitcher can throw the ball and manipulate it using a joystick, pushing down will throw a slow ball, pushing it up a fast one. When the ball is traveling towards the batter it can be given effect by pushing the joystick to left and right, too much effect can even cause the batter to be hit and fall to the ground. If the batter manages to hit the ball you have to push the 'catching' button at the right time just when the ball is near one of your field players.

Overall a great game, well executed, although the sprites are a bit thin and the screen can look a bit chaotic with all the players in it.
