In this game you star as John Solver, you have to rid the city of the mad bomber Dynamite Jack, who is planting bombs in the underground's of the city.
The top screen shows Dynamite jack who jumps in one of the holes, after that
a policeman instructs you to follow him to the underground's. This screen is
purely scenic and doesn't allow you to interact.
.
The
bottom screen shows a variety of mazes and the object is to reach the bomb placed
in a wall at the side The walls that make up the maze can be moved by you but
only when there isn't another wall behind it. You have to watch each maze carefully
and then decide which walls have to be moved in order to clear a path to the
bomb. Your time is limited before the bomb detonates and since you can only
push and not pull walls it's also possible to lock yourself in. Sometimes there
are more bombs visible and you can choose which one to deactivate since the
others will automatically follow. The 'extra' bombs are sometimes unreachable
and just a decoy to confuse you. After clearing 10 mazes the screen starts scrolling
from left to right and you have to find your way through the maze by sometimes
finding a passage and sometimes pushing a wall to create one, the object is
not to get crushed at the right of the screen. At the end is the final bomb
that needs to be defused, then you'll be shown another scene in the top screen
where the policeman will thank you for a job well done, after that it's back
to square one.
This game bears some resemblance to squish but the idea is much better executed here. In both games the top screen seems rather wasted since it doesn't involve any interaction. All in all an original game, but since there is a limited number of mazes it bores quickly.
