The cat has to prevent the mice from getting to the cheese located to the left and the right. The mice crawl though a sewer/pipe system and at certain points it is open so that the cat can kill them by hitting them with his fist. Sometimes the path of the cat will be blocked and he has to find another way around. Occasionally the mice will charge at the cheese moving in greater numbers and at greater speed. The controls aren't very intuitive, but it is reasonably fun to play.
